The finish line

I have been sadly remiss in posting my progress pictures. Every time I thought about it, it was like, "well after I get a few more rows done." Then I would lose track of time, tell myself I'd do it tomorrow, you know how it is. Regardless, I did finish my sweater about 3:00 Sunday afternoon.

The finished product. Congratulations to all who competed.

Pictures

So, I finally found the USB cable, redownloaded some software, and got the pictures out of my camera. Now everyone can see the travesty that was my sweater as well as the new cast on.

Here is my yarn. I chose it because it is lightweight
and more importantly, washable.

Here you see my cardigan in progress. This was
about 2 inches before I had to frog it all back and start over.

Finally recast-on. I'm now actually about five inches in.
I'll put up another pic when I'm ready to switch yarn.

(Don't ya just love my couch?)

AAAARRGGGG!!!!!!!!!!

AAH! I got to the point on my cardigan where I split for the front and back and realized that my left and right sides were reversed. With this pattern the blue has to be on the right and it's not. So, I started to frog back, all the way to the ribbing. I decided, I have to go back this far, I'm just going to start over and fix my twists in the ribbing. So as of today, I'm basically starting over. Good thing I've got the day off for Lincoln's birthday, maybe I can catch up to where I was at the beginning of the day.

On your mark. . .

This is my first foray into blogging. I am jumping in with both feet and little knowledge, so I hope you will bear with me while I learn. Why am I doing this? So I can show you all the great progress I am making during the Knitting Olympics!

I have joined team First Sweater and if all goes well, by Feb. 26 I will have a fabulously cute little cardigan and sock set for my sister-in-laws baby shower early in March. I’m going to knit the Lone Star Cardigan by Patti Pierce Stone. Click here to see what I’m supposed to end up with. Not only will this be my first sweater, but it also has intarsia color changes and I’m not sure how to do those. I’ll probably be spending a little time at my LYS and on knittinghelp.com making sure I’m twisting right.
